Required Qualifications:

Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent will be evaluated on the above with respect to the following: Excellence in the performance of technical functions in the respective areas. Evidence of maintaining positive relationships with clients/public and other health care providers of the service. Evidence of working in and supporting a team approach to the provision of service. Attention to details in the work environment. Formal training in the theory and techniques of ultrasonography. Experience as an ultrasound technologist in a hospital setting, Echo, general, and Obst experience required. Ability to organize own workload to minimize patient waiting time, make efficient use of facilities, etc. Ability to interpret physician’s requisitions, patient histories, etc. to produce quality images for diagnosis. Ability to apply oral and written policies, procedures, and instructions related to this work. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

Vascular, neonatal heads, procedure exposure, and MSK experience preferred. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
