Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an energetic, CPA Articling Student in either Edmonton or Calgary who is passionate about contributing to AHS’ success and continual improvement. This is a 3-year rotational position with work terms in the Finance and Internal Audit departments. You will gain industry experience while working towards obtaining a CPA designation. Opportunities abound as you assist with financial reporting, treasury assignments, and internal audits, while obtaining key competencies required for a CPA designation. These include performance measurement and reporting, governance strategy, risk management, decision making, and assurance. All Non-Union Exempt positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.


The CPA Articling Student key responsibilities include identifying key risks of an assignment, analyzing client assurance needs, developing or evaluating financial reporting processes, and preparing financial statements. Required Qualifications:

A university degree with a major in Accounting and successful completion of prerequisite requirements for the CPA Professional Education Program.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to function within a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to coordinate multiple priorities. Ability to work within defined deadlines.
