Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Home Care Network Program Manager, and as a member of a self-directed team, the Coordinator of Volunteer Resources is responsible for the following four key areas within Home Living in the Edmonton Zone: volunteer coordination; program administration; provision of support services to the clients and Case Managers of Home Care; and to help provide a rewarding experience for Home Care volunteers. Travel is required within Edmonton and surrounding areas on a regular basis. All Non-Union Exempt positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.

Description:

Key Responsibilities: Design and carry out recruitment and retention strategies to support appropriate volunteer placement and follow up. Maintain and/or develop recruitment and selection process from screening and interviewing to training and ongoing evaluation of volunteer placement. Facilitate one-to-one volunteer matches with clients with complex health needs living in the community including assessment of the client and his or her living environment. Maintain the volunteer database. Prepare statistical reports and manage budget. Develop and maintain communication tools, such as newsletters, with volunteers and Home Living network staff. Design, develop and review program policies and procedures and volunteer position descriptions. Foster ongoing relationships with other Coordinator of Volunteer Resources in the Edmonton Zone through bi-monthly meetings. Facilitate community linkages and connect to community resources.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Volunteer Management certificate and/or equivalency in relevant education and a minimum of two years’ experience is required (preferably within a community care or health care setting).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have the ability to work within scheduled timelines and be flexible to adjust to changing priorities. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite –specifically Word, Excel and Publisher- as well as various internet applications and email.


Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Volunteer Reporter is considered an asset.
