Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Integration Lead of Marketing and Individuals / Families, the Coordinator plays an integral role in achieving the objectives of the Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund strategic framework. His/her ultimate goal is to ensure that projects achieve the maximum impact in cancer prevention and the health of Albertans. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Coordinator is integral in planning, implementing, and evaluating projects. All Non-Union Exempt positions are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the AUPE General Support Services bargaining unit. If this position is impacted, the incumbent will be notified accordingly.

Description:

This position will provide leadership, collaboratively plan, implement, and evaluate assigned Health Marketing projects for Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund and contributes to the development of the overall communications strategy of ACPLF. The Coordinator works with multiple projects simultaneously and ensures project team members are engaged and aware of deliverables to support the communication strategy and achieve the overall objectives. The incumbent provides support related to professional feedback on health marketing concepts, and utilizes evidence based communication principles and project planning skills in the execution of projects.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline with a proven record of communication strategy development and implementation, minimum 5 years. Experience in developing and managing corporate brands. Advanced written and communication skills. Ability to write for diverse audiences and translate technical documents into plain language. Experience in managing complex social media campaigns. Experience in managing online communities. Experience in developing large publications. A minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience in a health setting or other public sector setting. Ability to work with high-level external Alberta Health and internal (zone and provincial) key stakeholders. Ability to facilitate and manage working groups and steering committees. Aptitude for building and sustaining complex relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in developing editorial calendars. Experience in creating multimedia (video, graphics, etc.) for online and social media. Conflict management expertise focusing on group dynamics and diverse priorities. Advanced skills in presentations and written communication to staff, stakeholders and other partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

ABC or CPRS membership an asset. APR certification an asset.
