Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Ergonomics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Design, Health Informatics, etc.) with noted focus or specialization in ergonomics and human factors. Combination of bachelor’s degree, certified education in human factors, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrable ergonomics and human factors body of knowledge including concepts, processes, design principles and tools. In-depth knowledge of user-centered design methodologies including ethnographic studies, task and user analysis methods, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing. Ability to plan, prepare and conduct both formal and informal usability assessments and evaluations. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment and ability to maintain collaborative relationships with all members of the team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation and technical writing abilities. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities; detail-oriented, self-driven, fast-learner. Demonstrable project management skills (setting and managing scope, tasks, team members, schedules). Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of the healthcare industry and/or experience in a clinical healthcare setting. Knowledge and experience applying ergonomics and human factors industry standards, guidelines, protocols and best practices. Experience in developing design concepts, workflows, information architectures, and wireframes etc.; familiar with at least one prototyping tool.
