Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12.

Additional Required Qualifications:

College certificate/diploma in related health care discipline. (If part of a registered profession—registration in good standing with applicable governing body). Equivalent combination of education & experience will be considered. Knowledge of the diversity of Indigenous cultural & political structures. Experience working in culturally diverse environments. Demonstrated ability & comfort with coaching & teaching individuals & groups. Effective oral & written communication skills. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills. Ability to solve routine & standard problems. Evidence of initiative, flexibility & strong commitment. Demonstrated punctuality, adaptability, discretion & confidentiality. This position may require a vehicle for business use. Possession of a valid driver’s license & access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required. Working Knowledge of computer applications including basic work processing, email, videoconferencing, & internet access & data entry required. There is client & family contact through education, support & advocacy. It is essential the staff maintain professional boundaries in their work, be respectful & honor the cultural diversity & spiritual beliefs of their clients. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable & is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset and College certificate/diploma in Nursing preferred.
