High Prairie, in Northern Alberta's Big Lakes County is known as the "Gateway to the Mighty Peace Country". In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

The Care Manager is responsible and accountable to ensure quality continuing care and supportive living programs and services are delivered in an integrated and coordinated approach at JB Woods. A major emphasis of the position is to provide leadership and support to a team of Registered, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Attendants. It is expected that the Care Manager will understand and apply the vision, values and priorities of Alberta Health Services. Responsibilities includes day to day operational duties of managing a Long Term Care/Supportive Living site. This includes, but is not limited to mentorship and development of staff, coaching and performance of professional and unregulated evaluation of staff; assisting with staff scheduling; addressing client concerns; implement and maintaining standards of practice; coordinate risk management, continuous quality improvement and utilization activities; participates in and supports Zone Operations and organizational direction, and assists in implementing, monitoring and maintaining budget. The Care Manager is required to work closely with other Acute Care and Home Care Managers in our operational zone to ensure smooth delivery of services.

Required Qualifications:

Current registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA), or other professional body. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity; healthcare experience is an asset. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).


Additional Required Qualifications:

As Required.


Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years Nursing experience. 1-3 years LTC or Home Care experience. Experience with RAI, Meditech and Supportive Pathways an asset.
