Required Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, equivalent education/ experience may be considered. Minimum of 5 years of front line experience with demonstrated leadership competencies (e.g., participation on committees/projects, leading peers, consulting to management, conducting education, sitting on external boards, involvement with professional association etc.). A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is required

Additional Required Qualifications:

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholder.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous management experience in a progressive environment is preferred.
