The Care Manager (CM) role is part of a dynamic leadership team where inspired leadership and accountability is shared. The successful individual will provide direct clinical oversight to the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) – Addiction & Mental Health Community Clinics located at Northgate, St. Albert and Morinville. Applying the best evidence informed practices while using a continuous quality improvement approach, the CM will ensure that services delivered by the team(s) meet the needs of the children, youth and families whom we serve. The CM will have an active relationship with other partners across the CYF continuum of care in addition to other community partners within the Child serving sector, such as Children Services, Family Supports to Children with Disabilities and school boards. Description:

The CM is the first point of contact for any concerns that may arise from service recipients or partners. While not responsible for the overall budget of the program, the CM is expected to have an awareness of expenditures and cost drivers that have an impact on the budget and to communicate this to the Program Manager/BAS. The CM will have signing authority required to facilitate daily operations. The CM will provide coaching and assist in the delivery of competency based education related to the CYF Intake and Crisis Services maintaining the Principles of Care in a family-centered, concurrent capable framework. The CM will have the opportunity to recruit highly skilled and committed staff, as well as oversee the daily operations of the Intake and Crisis teams. A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, UNA and AUPE) are required, as is an ability to deal effectively with performance issues.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years front line experience with demonstrated leadership competencies (e.g. participation on committees/projects, leading peers, consulting to management, conducting education, sitting on external boards, involvement with professional association etc). Demonstrates competency in leading self, engaging others, achieving results, building relationships/coalitions and championing system change. Master’s degree in health services discipline i.e. Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy (BScOT accepted), Nursing (BScN accepted). Registration with professional association/college is required.
