Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).
Additional Required Qualifications:Exhibit a working knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and various clinical procedures. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate strength and power required for lifting and moving heavier dialysis equipment. Demonstrate good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Proven organizational skills. Must be reliable, alert, accurate, and capable of working independently and possess good judgment and initiative. Regular travel outside the city is required and may require multiple night layovers.
Preferred Qualifications:A Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET) with the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering Technologists and Technicians. Specific dialysis technical service training on medical equipment for patient care. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems down to the individual electronic component level, and mechanical aptitude.
