Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of executive administrative experience is required. Accurate typing skills of 65-75 wpm, Medical terminology required. Advanced computer skills required, especially in Microsoft Office. Needs to be able to merge and extract between Excel spreadsheets and between Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications to effectively manage the workload. Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills, ability to effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously. Superior communication skills are essential in managing confrontational, confidential and problem-solving situations. Awareness of public and corporate image, directives and goals. Basic understanding and application of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act – specifically for health providers and patient information. Demonstrated analytic problem-solving and decision making skills are necessary to anticipate, identify and independently recommend appropriate actions to complex administrative problems. Must be able to exercise professionalism, judgment, tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills, ability to effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously. Superior communication skills. Experience in a large healthcare organization or academic health centre is preferred.
