Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Required at least 3-5 years in a clinical/academic/acute care environment. Experience may include: health care experience, professional, technical or scientific knowledge of any specialized areas of work or relevant large organization accustomed to departmental policies, and procedures. Demonstrated advanced computer experience: Word, Internet experience/electronic mail, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Scanner (operation and image manipulation, e.g. Photoshop. Medical Terminology, Netcare, PARIS, Clinibase and U of C – PeopleSoft experience. Independent with little direction to coordinate the procedures, processes, and diverse knowledge base necessary to meet the needs of the respective physicians responsibilities. The ability to act decisively and to anticipate, and work under pressure with frequent interruptions, conflicting deadlines, and keeping track of the deadlines. Must be flexible in order to accommodate changing workload demands and exercise a high degree of initiative. Attention to detail, proofreading/edit materials e.g. scientific posters with critical attention to accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Superior communication skills are essential in managing confrontational, confidential and problem-solving situations, often as first contact on behalf of the SCN and/or department and work independently requires tact and good judgment. The ability to act decisively and to anticipate, and work under pressure with frequent interruptions, conflicting deadlines, and keeping track of the deadlines.
