Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-Secondary Graduate (equivalent work experience may be considered). Minimum one-year administrative experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting. Accurate keyboarding skills of min. 40 words per minute. Intermediate computer skills (i.e. MS Office, Word, Excel PowerPoint, Access Outlook Calendar & email). Effective communication techniques (correct use of business English, spelling, grammar, proofreading). Prior to the interview the incumbent may be required to complete & pass a skills assessment to advance to the interview. Preferred Qualification: Medical Terminology. Medical Office Assistant Certificate. Complex clinical admin support to a physician within the last three years (related health care environment may be considered). Sound knowledge & experience in: surgical bookings, referral/waitlist management, scheduling, health record management, WCB/insurance claims, telephone communications & billing codes. Working knowledge of NetCare, Clinibase, SCM, Millennium Scheduler, Ezbill, other electronic medical and/or billing software, Iron Mounton, iExpense. Self-directed, critical thinker, effective time management, flexibility & attention to detail. 4 years admin experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting.

Preferred Qualification Continued: Demonstrated skill & understanding of importance of organizational policies, laws, regulations, ethics, conflict management & resolution in the health care environment. Strong commitment to patient satisfaction & quality health service. Ability to foster/promote teamwork, collaboration & partnership.
