Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Staffing Service Centre (SSC), the Administrative Support IV position provides staff scheduling support to multiple programs within the Edmonton Zone. The Staffing Clerk uses Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) staff scheduling application, and works within pre-determined staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short timelines in a busy, high pressure environment. Key responsibilities include: filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave; anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention; entering data for payroll; and providing scheduling reports, records and statistical information. This position is currently based out of Alberta Hospital Edmonton (AHE), although the location may change with program development. Hours of scheduled work are 0515-1445 hours and 1430-2400 hours on a rotational basis according to line availability. ETS bus access to AHE is limited but parking is currently free.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

1 to 3 years’ staff scheduling experience in health care required. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Customer service orientation on the telephone with strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to collaborate required. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills required. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and within a team environment required. Attention to detail and a typing speed of 40 wpm required, which will be demonstrated through skills testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary education preferred. Proficiency in ESP preferred. Working knowledge of the various applicable collective agreements and pay codes preferred.
