Your Opportunity:

Administrative Support IV is accountable to the Manager, Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Support for the effective performance of numerous clerical duties, including: Scheduling of exams. Preparation of consultation requests. Documenting patients for Diagnostic Imaging procedures. Greeting and directing patients, visitors, and their families. Answering telephone inquiries, redirecting calls and relaying messages. Other duties as required. The incumbent will schedule, edit, cancel and or/edit reschedule patient exams and work with electronic image systems. The incumbent is the first point of contact for patients and their families and manages information flow in the Diagnostic Imaging department. This position is responsible to assist physicians, technologist, and nursing staff in Diagnostic Imaging by processing physician orders and maintaining patient records.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have: A minimum of two years-related clerical experience in a fast paced healthcare environment. Working knowledge of patient information systems and must be proficient in keyboarding, Word and Excel. Experience in working fax, multiline telephone system, and photocopy equipment. Medical terminology certification. The ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions or questions in person, over the phone or in writing in a clear and concise manner. The ability to prioritize and multitask. The ability to work independently with minimal direction and flexibility to complete work assignments, organize and prioritize tasks while adapting to interruptions and changing circumstances. Demonstrated public relations and customer service skills. Demonstrated attention to detail. Working knowledge of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) systems. Must safe guard the confidentiality of patient records and information. Must consider the AHS Vision and Values and the Essential Habits as set forth by the Royal Alex. Way in daily interactions with colleagues, patients, and visitors. The incumbent to this position must be an approachable, flexible and tactful team member contributing to a positive team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Diagnostic Imaging experience preferred. Experience working with electronic scheduling system and electronic charting is an asset. Verbal and written exams may be administered at interview.
