Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Exercise good judgment & initiative in completing tasks. Able to work with a high degree of independence, confidentiality, accuracy, accountability & perform any other related duties. Only those who meet all the requirements & qualifications outlined in the job posting will be contacted. Health care experience with completion of a medical terminology course or course to be completed within 3 months of hire. Computer experience & experience with an Admission/Discharge/Transfer program, preferably Meditech. Must possess & demonstrate strong interpersonal & communication skills. Ability to work under very little supervision & work effectively in a team environment. Able to maintain poise under pressure, be able to prioritize & organize work in a fast paced environment. Ability to interact in a positive manner. Proven record of maintaining privacy & confidentiality with sensitive information and situations. Accurate keyboarding skills; testing will be administered during the recruitment process, only candidates who achieve 40 wpm (corrected for errors, max 5 errors) will proceed to the interview phase. Able to provide clerical services for Health Records. Physically able to perform duties involving sitting, standing, bending, walking & stretching for extended periods of time. Able to read, write, speak, & communicate effectively using the English language. An excellent attendance record, reliability & personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Office Assistant course (or equivalent). Switchboard experience. Basic knowledge of accounting.
