Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recognized unit clerk, medical receptionist or MOA certificate required, or a combination of equivalent education and experience acceptable to the employer. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Attention to detail with accurate data entry skills required. Demonstrated competence in computer usage and other office equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Professional and courteous telephone manner required.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to prioritize work with frequent interruptions in a busy work environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds using a supportive and non-judgmental approach. Skills in de-escalating patients with aggressive pre-dispositions preferred. Experience in an ambulatory/outpatient setting preferred.
