Your Opportunity:

Under limited supervision and guidance of the Supervisor, Patient Registration, Switchboard and Information this positions performs a variety of clerical duties related to interviewing patients to provide accurate and timely registration services, operating switchboard and reception services. Main duties include processing admission and registration of inpatients and outpatients in Admitting and/or Emergency Department areas and a variety of duties in chart management to ensure immediate access to patient information in order to facilitate health care treatment decisions.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary education applicable to the position and/or experience satisfactory to the employer. Must have Medical Terminology or complete within first 3 months of employment. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Accurate and proficient keyboarding skills 40-50 wpm required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Hospital related experience an asset. Experience working with Meditech Admission Module an asset. Prior experience working with the public an asset.
