Administrative Support III
Your Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Managers of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy Outpatient Clinics (or delegate), this position is a part of the Hepatology Clinic. Working in a collaborative environment, the Administrative Support III role works closely with Booking Clerks, Nurse Clinicians, Nurse Practitioners and Hepatology physicians. The successful candidate for this position is responsible for appointments and bookings, processing of selected physician's orders, data entry, and maintenance of a database, and tabulation of Triaging Hepatology referrals, including intake and preparation of the referrals, telephone reception and correspondence, clinic monthly statistics. Hours of Clinic operation are presently Monday - Friday between the hours of 0730 - 1800.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a Medical Office Assistant or Equivalent medical and clerical training. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Minimum of 1 year of current medical or clerical experience required (in the last 5 years). Experience in referral management within last two years. Previous experience working in Hepatology and/or Gastroenterology in outpatient capacity required. Competence with various computer and office systems (Word, Excel, Teams, Connect Care, Right Fax, photocopier, multi-line phones). Minimum keyboarding speed of 50 wpm. Ability to use sound judgment and analytical skills using a high degree of accuracy to make decisions regarding patient referrals required. Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize, problem solve and handle frequent interruptions. Excellent English verbal and written skills required. Ability to foster positive interpersonal and communication skills with healthcare providers, allied health professionals, peers, departmental management and patients required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience using Netcare and Connect Care with referral clerical training preferred. Ambulatory/outpatient experience preferred.
