Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Medical Terminology required or course completed within 3 months of hire. Typing speed of 50 wpm required with testing prior to interview. Clerical experience in a hospital or clinic. Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to change. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles. Team player with demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, modeling behaviors that support & contribute positively to team operations and working relationships. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be physically able to perform duties involving standing, sitting, bending, reaching and stretching for extended periods. Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 25lbs and be able to push and pull charts out of mobile shelving. Performs all functions with a high degree of accuracy and maintains or exceeds established productivity standards. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years related experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred. Knowledge of HIA (Health Information Act) & FOIP (Freedom of Information and Privacy). Recent customer service experience preferred. Ability to operate a computer and scanning equipment. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions precisely.
