Your Opportunity:

Working under the general direction of the area supervisor, the SCHC MRI Reception Clerk performs reception and other clerical duties for the MRI Diagnostic Imaging department. This position’s assigned work includes greeting patients, patient documentation, order entry, telephone coverage, and electronic re- scheduling patients and assisting with the technical staff when required and will work closely with other areas within the Diagnostic Imaging department at South Calgary Health Center and across the zone. Responsible for working all shifts as assigned.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Medical Terminology Course required. Accurate and proficient Keyboarding skills, 35 wpm required. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows (Word, Excel, Internet, and Email). Absolute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs. Equipment troubleshooting, printer, fax, PC.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recognized Medical Office Assistance or Clerical Course applicable to the position. Recent Diagnostic Imaging experience. Previous electronic Diagnostic Imaging experience. Minimum 3 months recent experience in a hospital or medical environment, involved in booking, reception and clerical duties. Prior experience working with the public an asset.
