Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent communication, telephone, and organizational skills. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude, demonstrate a professional image, exceptional customer service ability, be a strong team player, a problem solver and be flexible with ability to adapt to change. Proficiency in various computer applications including word processing, data entry, email, and internet access are required. Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing. Requires ability to deescalate potential situations of conflict or angry patients. Works with other agencies in the community as directed. May require evening and weekend work. Ability to work in a high-stress environment (e.g. disruptive, multi-sensory environment (e.g. clinic front reception). Requires driving in inclement weather conditions. Prolonged, repetitive finger, hand, wrist, arm and shoulder use while on computer. Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing. Prolonged, repetitive finger, hand, wrist, arm and shoulder use while on computer. Requires packing, lifting and transporting supplies (over 20 lbs) to various work sites. Requires walking several blocks and climbing several flights of stairs. Requires ability to set up and take down rooms (e.g. table, chairs, wall partitions, and displays). Requires ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, sit, bend, knell, twist, squat, stoop, crawl, reaching, lift, push/pull and carry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Meditech is an asset and previous Public Health experience is beneficial. A minimum of grade 12 and the successful completion of a post-secondary secretarial or administrative support certificate from a recognized business school/college is preferred.
