Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be able to clearly speak, read, write and understand English. Ability to type on a standard computer keyboard and operate a computer mouse is essential. Minimum standard for typing is 35 words per minute. Basic file management, document and email skills required. Must be well organized with attention to detail. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Professionalism and customer service are essential in dealing with patients, foodservices colleagues, other departments and the public. Demonstration of critical thinking skills and confidence in decision making are important in ensuring patient safety. Proficient in basic mathematical skills to support accurate tallies and calculations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference given to those with post-secondary administrative assistant/clerical education or education in a related field. Preference given to those with knowledge of medical and dietetic terminology. Previous food services experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Computer and clerical experience in an office environment preferred.
