Required Qualifications:

Completion of a bachelor's degree in Addictions or a combination of a bachelor's degree in a related field with course work in addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant to this position with our Screening and Referral Service will have a sound knowledge of addiction, some background in mental illness, several years of experience in addiction and mental health counseling and a demonstrated ability to work within an integrated team approach. Educational requirement: Graduation with an approved Social Science, Social Work or Nursing degree, or Psych Nursing. Preference will be given to those with registration with the associated Regulatory College in accord with the Health Professions Act of Alberta. A valid driver’s license, some evening and weekend work, and to set up visual/audio aids equipment are also required. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references.
