Description:
Oversees daily logistics operations, ensuring timely and secure transport of specimen samples in all weather conditions. Collaborates with the Logistics Manager and Director to implement strategic logistics plans. Supervises and mentors' logistics staff, including dispatchers, couriers, and technical supervisors, to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery. Monitors logistical challenges and implements proactive solutions to improve operational efficiency. Maintains accurate records in compliance with regulatory and safety standards related to specimen transportation. Assists with the development and delivery of training and operational processes, supporting best practices and continuous improvement. Provides leadership support during recruitment processes and onboarding of new staff. Serves as a key communication link between logistics staff and laboratory stakeholders. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and adaptability to address operational challenges. Ensures strict attention to detail to maintain compliance, service quality, and the integrity of transported specimens. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software systems. Understands and applies transportation safety regulations and documentation standards. Analyzes operational data to identify trends and supports improvements in logistics performance. Manages priorities in a high-paced environment while maintaining effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is required. Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driving abstract. Post secondary education in Logistics, Business Administration, Laboratory or a related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Supervisory experience is preferred. Prior experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is an asset. Familiarity with dispatch or logistics software, along with a basic understanding of transportation safety regulations.
