Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager and Clinical Supervisor, through collaboration, consultation, and a team oriented approach, the Laboratory Technologist is responsible for: analyzing specimens and validating results by operating various types of automated equipment and or manual methods; ensuring accuracy of patient information and processing specimens; ensuring accuracy of results by participating in internal and external quality control programs; maintain and troubleshoot a variety of instruments by following established procedures to ensure optimal function of laboratory equipment; understand and maintain a working knowledge of all analytical techniques. Under the direction of the Technologist II, participating in orientation and training of new staff, coworkers and external clients including students and medical residents: monitoring and organizing daily work flow and adapting to accommodate fluctuations: displaying leadership and teamwork; maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. The Laboratory Technologist I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards and the Mission, Vision, Values and policies and procedures of Alberta Precision Laboratories. Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience with EPIC and Wellsky LIS systems. Recent experience in chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine. Demonstration of excellent problem solving, decision making, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Work experience with Sysmex XN, Cellavision, ACL Top350, Roche Cobas Pro, Clinitek Advantus, Ortho Vision Swift, and other core laboratory equipment.
