Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Competency with windows-based computer applications (ex. Microsoft Office, database/spreadsheet applications) and mathematical calculations is required. The ability to stand, sit, lift and carry equipment and supplies is a must. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and within a team environment. The individual must have proven effective time management and organizational skills, and be a strong team player committed to providing quality patient care. Strong communication skills are a must. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be quality focused and have very good attention to details. The individual must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, having the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities according to the situation. Communication and interpersonal skills must enable this individual to build and maintain relationships, facilitate teamwork, resolve conflict and manage change. The successful candidate will represent Genetics & Genomics, as part of Alberta Precision Laboratories, in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications:Clinical experience in a laboratory is preferred, but not a requirement.
